Part 12 of our educational series with Andrew Baildon OLY
The Essential Skills
When learning to swim, the most essential skills is to develop a basic head and body position.
Secondly, to have a strong and effective kick. It gives you easy momentum.
And thirdly, sculling drills which creates feel on the water. The kick is the motor of your stroke. It’s your accelerator to help you power through the water.
Correct head and body position helps your balance, reduces drag, and makes you more efficient. Sculling arms or underwater paddles help pull you through the water. Getting this technique right helps you swim stronger and faster.
Finally, whilst these are all technical skills, swimming at Superfish is fun. We want you to come to our centers and for all our superfish swimmers to enjoy their time here with us.
